Hello!
My name is Marina Herrera-Pease, and Iām a San Francisco-based artist. I am currently enrolled in California College of the Arts; majoring in Painting/Drawing.
I mainly work with oil on canvas, but also love ceramics and jewelry making. My sculptures are an extension of my paintings.
I create art to cope with the outside world in which we currently live in. I focus on the ideas that come with existentialism, where we can decide our own world; finding our own pathways to lead us to where we need to be rather than external forces creating our pathways.
I use figures a lot in my artwork, these beings represent myself discovering my body, my feelings about it, and the negative analogies that align with my body. Through art I am uncovering what it means to be human and our surroundings in which we live and why.
